Elizabeth L. Alpert, Esq

Liz Alpert is a partner at Tannenbaum Scro Hanewich & Alpert. She practices in the area of Marital and Family Law, which includes dissolution of marriage, spousal and child support, child custody, property division, post-dissolution enforcement and modification, paternity, domestic violence, prenuptial agreements, and family law appeals. Her insight into the divorce process assists her clients achieve the best possible result, in navigating through a very difficult period in their lives. Whether her client’s best interests can be accomplished through an amicable settlement or whether a contested matter requires her to fight for her clients rights in court, Ms. Alpert can provide the strength and understanding her clients need throughout the process.
Ms. Alpert graduated from the University of South Florida, summa cum laude, in 1995 and Stetson University College of Law in 2005. After being admitted to the Florida Bar in September 2006, Ms. Alpert opened her own law practice in January 2007 concentrating on marital and family law. She continued in her own firm until joining Tannebaum Scro Hanewich and Alpert in June 2011.
Prior to pursuing her law career, Ms. Alpert amassed a wide-range of experience including banking, real estate, retail management, accounting, and television news. She served on Tampa’s Architectural Review Commission for six years. A run for public office honed her public speaking skills which aids her in her ability to argue her client’s position in court.
She is currently serving on the City of Sarasota’s Human Relations Board and is the Vice-Chair of the Support Issues Committee of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar.
Ms. Alpert is a member of the Sarasota County Bar Association and the Hillsborough County Bar Association.
